CLC 4-Step Mediation Program
Mediation program created for individuals and businesses to safely and confidentially resolve their disputes arising from COVID-19
Highland Park, Michigan, April 20, 2020: Cotton Law Center, PLLC, distinguished law firm handling employment disputes and alternative dispute resolution matters, today launched “CLC 4-Step Mediation Program”, a mediation program that provides individuals and businesses with a safe and confidential process to resolve disputes that arise from COVID-19.
“We must not let problems during these times of COVID-19 keep us from our destiny”, said Daimeon Cotton, founder and managing attorney at Cotton Law Center, PLLC.
COVID-19 is challenging us in unprecedented ways. From widespread lockdowns, to uncertain futures, this crisis is unlike anything most of us have experienced in our lifetime. In the US, hundreds of thousands of people battle sickness or worse while millions are unemployed. Unfortunately, even as we move towards normalcy, new problems are on the horizon.
Job losses and work disagreements raise questions of discrimination and other legal violations. Unpaid invoices and delayed construction work raise questions of broken contractual obligations. Past due rent and financial uncertainty raise eviction questions and challenge whether prospective buyers will keep promises to purchase real property. The list goes on.
During these trying times, it is important to provide safe and confidential space for difficult conversations and dispute resolution. Cotton Law Center has the privilege of announcing its new mediation program.
The 4-Step program removes the uncertainty of litigation and empowers people to decide how they will settle their disputes. The program consists of 4 simple principles:
- Confidentiality
- Presentation
- Truth
- Possibility
To develop the mediation program, CLC’s attorney Daimeon Cotton draws from his training and experience as a mediator through Wayne State University’s dispute resolution master’s program. He earned a Master of Arts in Dispute Resolution with a 3.87 GPA and has mediated several general civil matters. Mr. Cotton has represented individuals and businesses in mediation and negotiation processes, and he has combined his skills as a neutral with his passion as an advocate to develop a mediation procedure uniquely designed to handle emotionally charged disputes during these times of COVID-19.
CLC’s goal is to deal effectively with disputes brought on by COVID-19 and inspire hope for the future. Through proven dispute resolution techniques, CLC aims at the heart of disputes to chart a path towards resolution in areas involving:
- Employment Disputes
- Business Disputes
- Real Estate Disputes
- General Civil Disputes
